Pen Pals Design creates purposeful, story-driven design for organizations and businesses that care about their community. Through collaboration, curiosity, and thoughtful design, I translate values into visuals — building brands that are as authentic as the people behind them.
I’m a queer, trans non-binary graphic designer, illustrator, and communications nerd with family roots in Hong Kong. I love exploring ideas in all forms, whether I’m doodling a punny cartoon, problem-solving through design, or crafting a one-of-a-kind brand identity. My style blends approachable illustration with clean, intentional layouts to communicate messages clearly and creatively.
I work with community-focused businesses and organizations to help them share their stories. My offerings include branding, communications consulting, packaging, digital/print design (e.g. annual reports, posters), and more.
When I’m not at my desk, I’m probably wandering in the woods — I’m a mycophile at heart — or building community spaces for queer and trans folks through my work with Canmore Pride.
If you have an idea in mind, I’d love to connect about your next project.

As a second-generation Chinese-Canadian  I recommend reading Beyond Land Acknowledgements: A Guide, a resource that I often refer back to while on my continuous learning journey in practicing reconciliation. I also recommend checking out the Indigenous Field Guide pledge.
